Presidential Candidate Marco Rubio and I surrounded by photographers.
October 1st found us at Mudd Advertising in Waterloo, IA. We were there to hear a campaign speech by senator, and 2016 presidential candidate Marco Rubio! We arrived plenty early, and soon the auditorium in which we were in was packed full, leaving standing room only! Rubio gave an interesting speech, and he has quite a few good political positions. He told about his parent's story of immigrating from Cuba, and how they successfully achieved the American Dream. The Floridian Senator says he is campaigning to build up a new American century.
Rubio is for a flat tax on the federal level, and he's stated that if elected he will repeal Obama Care. He's against abortion, and he's for the second amendment. He believes the states should decide on issues like traditional marriage. Rubio's ideas for education were quite interesting. He told how the need for Greek philosophers has considerably decreased in the past 2000 years, and that the country needs more welders and mechanics instead. He suggested that the country should start making trade schools available to students while still in highschool. If elected President, Rubio promises to help the farmers and ranchers by getting the government totally out of their way.
After his speech, the audience was given the opportunity to ask questions, and later to have their pictures taken with him. Marco Rubio is another one of the candidates that, in my opinion, would make an excellent president! http://marcorubio.com
