Young lady when looking for a husband consider this: what kind of a shadow does he have. The Song of Solomon shares the words between the bride and her bridegroom. In chapter 2 verse 3 the bride says, "As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste." I cut down 20 giant willow trees last week. They make a mess that must be picked up before cutting the grass, the wood is worthless as lumber , it is a poor firewood and they are full of dead branches making it dangerous to be under them for shade from the sun. Most men are like a willow tree: worthless. An apple tree has apples to eat. The wood has a pleasant aroma and is great to use in a smoker. It is safe to be under the shadow of an apple tree and they produce great beauty each spring with their blossoms. Look for a man who will provide you shade from the sun and shelter from the storm. A man who spends time at the tavern with the boys and with drunken women is as worthless as a willow tree.
