Is the Lord making you who you are? The Bible says that except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain (Psalm 127).
Is your life built upon wood, hay, or stubble? Are you a Christian because you became a member of a church? Are you a Christian because you want to be good? Are you a Christian because your parents are? Or are you a Christian because you just decided to be? True Christianity is more than these. These are just stubble. True Christians are those who have met Christ and are born of the will of God. Those who are born of the will of God are given more than forgiveness, they are given deliverance. They are called out of darkness to live and show forth the praises of Jesus in His marvelous light. They are given the gift of the Holy Ghost and they are made the temples of God. They are like Daniel and Joseph in whom the Spirit of the
Holy God was.
Because God dwells in true Christians, true Christians love God. God hath clothed them with the garments of righteousness, and He hath sanctified them. They are clean, and He keeps them clean. It is the Lord's doing.
Jesus teaches His children. He shows them the path of righteousness. He corrects them and guides them. He opens His word, the Bible, to them, and His words become their life. God's children, the true Christians, will live their lives with God's purpose and bear God's fruit and God's work.
If your life is the fruit of man's hand (church, pastors, parents, yourself, or friends), you have nothing. You need the Lord Jesus to touch your life and be the builder of it. Jesus is the Master Builder of a new life, a life headed for heaven.
