I have noticed a sad and shocking thing. When I get around churchgoers, the one
overshadowing message I hear is, “I am a sinner.” Get over it friends. Everyone is born
with a sin nature, and everyone will have a sin nature until death or the resurrection.
Alright! Even little babies have a sin nature. But let us grow up in Christ. Let us
present our bodies a living sacrifice unto God. Let us crucify our flesh and live a
victorious life. We cannot get rid of the sin nature, but we can keep it in obedience to
Christ. We can overcome sin.
Sin is the breaking of God's law. It is possible for a person with a sin nature to live a
life free from breaking God's laws. In fact, if you are still actively breaking God's laws,
you are a disgrace to Christ. Repent; turn from your wickedness and cry out to Jesus.
If you leave this life as an active sinner, you are in big trouble and have failed to let
the work of Christ bring you to the state of an overcomer.
1 John 3:6-9, “Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not
seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth
righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the
devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God
doth not commit sin.”
