The greatest love story ever told is the story of our Lord Jesus. He grew up as an ordinary child, went to school, learned a trade, and worked for a living. But at the age of thirty, he was launched into His ministry proclaimed by John the Baptist as the Bridegroom.
He proposed to his bride saying, “Come unto me, and I will give you rest.” He promised her, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” He loved her and gave his life for her, saying, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” He conquered death, arose triumphantly, and now prepares a place for his bride. “In my Father's house are many mansions; I go to prepare a place for you.” His bride hath made herself ready, waiting for the call: “Behold the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him!”
Throughout eternity, those who have made a covenant with Jesus, surrendering all, yet gaining all, shall abide in his love. Love is the strength of the Christian life. Jesus said, “If any man love me, He will keep my commandments.” God is love. He who dwells in love has God.
