Since the fall of man there has always been troubles, suffering, sickness, and death. You can count on it. Through it all, the scriptures encourage us to look to our Lord Jesus Christ. Lamentations 3 tells us to remember:
It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed,
because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning:
great is thy faithfulness.
. The LORD is my portion,
saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him,
to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
I realize that I am small, weak and helpless, but our God is powerful and magnanimous and this gives me hope. He has invited me to abide in Him and partake in His mercies. Praise God!
Jesus tells us, "All things, whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive."
In the Gospel, Jesus encouraged the people to have faith in Him. He said to one that was healed, "Thy faith hath made thee whole." He told another, "Thy faith hath saved thee." He encouraged the disciples saying that if they had faith as little as a mustard seed they could move mountains. Peter in the book of Acts witnessed that through faith in the name of Jesus a lame man was able to walk.
Now faith is not a fanciful hope nor is it a figment of our imagination. The Bible describes it as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Substance means that this faith is something real. The dictionary describes substance this way: the real physical matter of which a person or thing consists and which has a tangible, solid presence. Wow!
Faith comes from Jesus. It comes from knowing Him. Knowing that He is merciful and compassionate. Faith comes from knowing that Jesus loves us and knowing that He cares deeply for us. Faith is a fruit of Jesus' spirit touching our life giving us the peace that passes all understanding. Faith is knowing that God's compassion fails not and that HE will see us through every situation some how. We can say to Him, " Father, hold me through this storm," and He does because we are His children. We belong to Him.
Trust Jesus, and hold on to His unchanging hand. He will see you through this life.

But unto you that fear my name
shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings;
and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
