A person can and should know if he or she is going to heaven. I've heard it said many times, "You won't know until you get there."
Well, let me tell you if you don't know if you are going to heaven, you won't be going there.
It doesn't matter how wonderful, or good, or kind you are. You can not get there without the Lord Jesus letting you know you are going.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me."
You might have prayed the sinner's prayer, you might have been baptized, you might have joined a church, but you are not going to heaven unless you have been touched, moved, changed, transformed, quickened, and given the power by the Lord Jesus Christ. He said, " Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
John stated that the power to be the children of God comes from God, and not through {blood) heredity, nor through the will power of your flesh, nor through other men's will.
Jesus tells us in John 10 that He is the only door to His kingdom. He said, "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved."
"Saved from what?" you might ask. Saved from the power of sin in your life and saved from the wages of sin which is death and hell.
Do you want to go to heaven?
You must know Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life, and He must know you as His child. Come to Jesus, speak with Him and let Him fill you with His presence. Know for yourself that God is real and heaven is real. Find out for yourself.
Those who are going to heaven know that they are going to heaven. Jesus walks with them and talks with them. He guides them alone life's way. He gives them a new life. The Scriptures say, "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are made new." Jesus has made His children alive to the things of heaven. They say "Yes" to Jesus and His word, because they are aware that heaven is not very far away, and Jesus is even nearer.
