The Christian's life begins with the revelation of Jesus Christ: Jesus reveals Himself to us. We are made aware of His presence. We realize He lives, He's real, and He is God. With this understanding, we were able to look at ourselves; and realize that we were sinners, unclean and unfit to be in God's presence .
("Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.")
We saw how we lived so wickedly, and so far from Him, then we humble ourselves and repented before Him. We turned from our sins at His reproof and He fulfilled His words by pouring His Spirit onto us and making His word known onto us. We became gladly aware that we were somehow made clean and are forgiven of our sins. We were made pure and new; born of God.
The desires for the old ways are gone. We rejoice and want to tell the whole world that God is real and that He is able to change a life and make it clean. Praise God! This is just a beginning.
God makes His children clean in heart and deeds so that they may be filled with God's Holy Spirit. This is Jesus' indwelling presence in our lives. Jesus tells us that this is the Comforter.
("He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.")
("When the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.")
We did not recieve the gospel of Jesus Christ in word only but in power, in the Holy Ghost and in much assurance.
Salvation does not come by cunning words of men but by the power of God!
God quickens us and we become aware of the things of heaven, and of Him. We love Jesus; we love His will. We desire to please Him. We delight to do His will. We delight in His word. In the midst of our delighting He proceeds to fulfill His word in our lives and we bare His fruit. We reflect His light to the world.
In years past Christians were known worldwide for their high moral fortide. They were known as pure, clean, kind, honest, diligent and hardworking people. They were known as the people of God's word. God's people are still the same today, because Jesus is still the same today. He still perfects, sanctifies, and preserves His own children for the day of His coming. His people are a people with a clean tongue and a pure heart. Our lives are full with His purpose and His works do follow us. We are a people who are passionately in love with Jesus. We have continual joy in our salvation and are forever grateful to Jesus for His mercy and grace.
Jesus leads us in the path we should go and we follow Him. God still speaks with His children; we hear His voice; we know His presence. The word of God is true. The Lord does the work in His children lives and we become the testamony of God's word.
Jesus Christ is the only Saviour and the only true God. How do I know? I've had fellowship with Him for over 28 years. He lives.
